Partners in Preparedness
A Preparedness Conference that Fosters Relationships Between Emergency Management and Disability Communities
The Arizona Partners in Preparedness Conference focused on engaging stakeholders from the emergency management and disability communities in the state of Arizona to gain a greater understanding of inclusive emergency management and provide for more effective response to the state’s 900,000 plus citizens with functional disabilities.
Since 2013, the Partners in Preparedness Summit has served as a forum for these communities to discuss best practices, develop collaborative relationships, formalize clear post-seminar objectives to develop regional advisory panels and hear from nationally recognized leaders in the field.
The Arizona State Independent Living Council will hold public forums throughout the state to gather public input regarding the independent living needs of people with disabilities of all ages. People with disabilities, family members, advocates, services providers, and other interested members of the general public are invited to participate. Information obtained from these forums will be considered in the development of the 3-year State plan for Independent Living (SPIL).
